5 Beauty Hacks for a Flawless Boudoir Session

At this point, you’ve probably scavenged the internet to find out the top-secret formula to a perfect boudoir session. But there are endless blogs and help articles on beauty hacks that can honestly make you more confused than you were before you started.

All you want is to make sure your session goes off without a hitch… and that shouldn’t feel like a mission.

That’s where I come in! To make sure your upcoming boudoir experience is a more fun and stress-free event, I have created a list of my 7 Go-To beauty tips that’ll have you looking and feeling your absolute best for your session.  

As long as you keep optimistic and give these few beauty hacks a try, there’s no reason why you and your boudoir session can’t be flawless.

Hydrate

I know you’ve probably heard this at least a million times, but it’s absolutely true.

Water is the [not-so] secret elixir to a healthier and brighter you. Just drinking 8-10 glasses of it a day will have an amazing impact on your energy levels and skin.

Hydration is the key to well-nourished, soft, and glowing skin. Making sure you’re drinking enough water can really make a world of a difference, your body will love you for it!

You can also make sure your skin is well moisturized by incorporating a daily application of lotion and essential oils to your beauty hacks practices! Keep an eye out for products that include cocoa butter and aloe vera for a little extra boost of antioxidants and vitamins.

Go to Bed with Clean Skin

When we sleep our pores open up and we absorb all the dirt and dust left on our skin, this particularly shows on our faces.

Whether you realize it or not, you’re exposed to a number of dirt particles and radicals that can cling to your pores; this is especially true when you’re wearing makeup.

These nasty bits can cause the breakdown of healthy collagen, which eventually leads to fine lines and wrinkles. If you don’t wash your face before bed as a part of your beauty hacks practices, your skin will have to fend off those free radicals all night long.

So before going to bed, make sure you rinse your face with warm water and gently scrub your face with a cleanser for 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Keep an eye out for products that include charcoal as it draws bacteria, poisons, chemicals, dirt, and other micro-particles to the surface of your skin making it easier to obtain a flawless complexion!

Herbal Teas and Smoothies

We all know that a cup of tea or light fruit blend can help put your mind at ease, but their benefits go much further than that!

Like I mentioned earlier, staying hydrated is an important part of helping your body keep in balance. Adding teas and smoothies to the equation is another great way to do this while adding in some additional antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

Many of the properties that tea and smoothies contain to help stress can also help improve your skin. So much so that beauty brands are incorporating tea extracts to their formulations!

Sleep Tight

 

Making sure you get enough Z’s regularly is one of the best things you can do for your body, not to mention your skin. Being the incredible busy bee you are, I’m 100% sure getting sleep the sleep you need is much easier said than done.

Believe it or not, sleep may be the closest thing there is to a fountain of youth. While you’re off dreaming about your perfect boudoir session, your body is hard at work repairing itself and recovering from your long day of being amazing. Giving your body enough time to run its repairs leads to a long list of skin benefits.

Ideally, you should be receiving 7 to 9 quality hours of sleep each night—or as close as your kids will let you get to that! But making yourself a priority and taking the time to give your body the rest it needs will have you looking and feeling incredible for both your session, and your day to day life!

Treat Your Hair With Care

So I know we’ve talked about skin care for the most part, but I definitely don’t want to leave you in the dark when it comes to taking care of your hair!

Some hair related beauty hacks to consider:

    1. Allow your hair to air dry whenever possible! It reduces the amount of heat damage done to your hair and reduces scalp dryness and easy breaks.
    1. Just like your skin, your hair needs hydration too! Make sure you implement deep hydration at least once a week.
  1. Taking lukewarm showers is better for both your skin and scalp! Try opting for cooler water during your next shower!  

It’s easy to become as nervous as a high-school senior the night before picture day when there’s so much going through your mind before your session.
