# 1 Shop Around for Lingerie

I know what you’re thinking… seems like an obvious thing to do before a boudoir session. But, what I’m really trying to hint at is making sure you treat yourself and make your boudoir session something to really look forward to!

If you really want to have a fantastic session, making sure you work out all the fine details and splurging a little on yourself can help you take things to a whole other level.
Plus, lingerie shopping is so much fun when you really let yourself get into the spirit of it. Aim for something that makes you feel incredible and 100% irresistible in every way possible. The hotter you feel in your outfit, the more confident and bold you’ll feel during your session.

Whatever it is that makes you feel sexy, go ahead and spoil yourself a little!
Think of the entire process of picking out your new lingerie as the beginning of the creative spark that helps bring you in for your fabulous boudoir session! Let yourself explore something new… things you’ve never even considered trying on before. Put on that corset or that delightfully revealing nightie, whatever makes you feel your absolute best!

Plus, when you buy lingerie for your session, you get to take it home with you after it’s all said and done! That means your boudoir shoot takes on a new life of its own for you and that special someone in your life… meaning you’ll both enjoy it much more than either of you ever dreamed.

#2 Step out of Your Comfort Zone

I know how it can be incredibly nerve-wracking to reveal so much of yourself in front of the camera, especially if it’s your first time exploring your body with a boudoir session. But here’s the silver lining: by the time you’ve done with your session, chances are, you’ll feel much more comfortable with me than when we started! I’m all about connecting and making new lady friends, so I’ll do whatever I can to make you feel more comfortable and at ease.

During your session, you need to let yourself escape your thoughts for a while so that you’re willing to step outside of your comfort zone.

In all honesty, not every pose or picture is going to come out to your liking, but that’s why we take so many different ones! But in order to do so, you need to be willing to try it! Check it out. Do something new. You may be amazed by some of the incredible images we’re able to capture! You might even end up loving the very pictures you thought you’d hate.

#3 Personality is Queen

Boudoir sessions are an amazing opportunity to unwind and embrace yourself without limitations or fear of judgment. This is a time for you to be you… to experiment with all sorts of poses and styles without a care in the world.

I’ll be there to guide you through your vision if you should need it. But I’m all for it if you’d like to take things into your own hands! I want you to be authentically you— for you to unleash the real you that you’ve been wanting to show off to the world.

Embrace your personality! Let your fabulous props, gorgeous lingerie outfits, and darling poses reflect you. So like I mentioned before, I’m all about making connections with the women I meet. And it goes without saying, an important part of a successful boudoir session comes from getting comfortable with your photographer. The better the connection we have, the more comfortable and relaxed you’ll be. Which means you’ll be able to pose in ways that will give you more images to fall in love with!

Let’s embrace that!

Ask me questions. Get to know me. Don’t be embarrassed by anything you want to ask: I’ve heard it all before, and I’ll probably hear it again.

When you’re comfortable with me, you’ll be more comfortable in front of the camera—and that means a better session that you’ll be more likely to love.

#5 Embrace the Session

So, your session is whatever you want it to be… that means you decide exactly what happens during your session and what direction you want things to take.

Make sure you embrace that and let everything out during your session. Channel your sensuality and inner emotions to put a little extra “you” in every pose and face you make.

Arch and twist and stretch a little more… get out of your head and embrace the confident woman in front of the camera. The energy you put out will show in your images, without a doubt. That’s why you need to make sure you do more than just what you’re told.

If you just show up to your session and do everything I say or suggest then it’s not your session anymore. You won’t love your images because they aren’t you.

I can’t stress enough that you’ll need to really commit yourself to letting your instincts take over. Let your gut guide you. If you want to put your own twist on poses I suggest, then, by all means, DO IT!

I love seeing the individuality and spirit of the women I photograph in their images. At the end of the day, that’s what’s really makes their images so wonderfully beautiful and unique.
