There are few things I dislike more than being told what to do or how to live. I just don’t feel like dealing with judgment for doing something that makes me happy.

And that’s one of the biggest reasons I decided to become a boudoir photographer. I wanted to be a part of something that helped women like myself feel beautiful and safe in a judgment-free space.

I consider my studio a haven to women that feel the same; women that are ready to embrace themselves and who they are without remorse.

All women are beautiful and hold a unique style all their own, so any “rules” that limit this individuality, are honestly no rules worth following.

I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of walls and unnecessary barriers keeping me from doing things I want to do. So here are 5 rules you are 100% allowed to break here at Bomshell Studios.

#1 “Dress your Age”

One thing I keep hearing more and more is that there’s some sort of age limit on clothing. That after we reach a certain age, the doors close on our favorite tank tops and jean shorts.

Who went and wrote the official rulebook about what you can and can’t wear because of your age? Because I’ll be honest, the 40 plus women at my studio absolutely rock the outfits they choose, and they don’t hold themselves back either.

Everywhere you go, there’s going to be someone judging some aspect about you. So there’s really no reason to change anything about yourself or what you choose to wear.

You should wear whatever makes you happy, regardless of what you’ve been told in the past. Take charge and let yourself decide what you should and shouldn’t wear.

At Bomshell Studios, I encourage you to embrace your femininity and explore yourself, unhindered by feelings of judgment. The only thing you’ll receive at my studio is support and admiration for taking the leap!

#2 “Be on your Best Behavior”

I know this one sounds a little silly, but it’s a rule you absolutely follow… and you might not even realize it.

Whenever you decide to hold back or to dress a certain way, you’re quote-on-quote “behaving.” If you feel a slight tinge of longing to do something other than the action you’re taking, you’re “behaving.”

So if you’re in my studio and you feel the urge to do something, but your uncertainties and insecurities are keeping you from taking action, it’s time to break the rules.

During your session I want you to embrace every aspect of yourself and channel your wild side. That means no holding back!

Play the bad girl for a little while if you want to. Your session should be both fun and empowering, so don’t be afraid to forget the status quo for a few hours… or forever.

#3 “Go with what you Know”

I’m talking about the women out there who seek adventure and the unknown.; women who are ready to have fun and shake things up without a care.

Sometimes we keep ourselves from diverging from routine just because of uncertainty. Trying something new can be pretty intimidating, but you’ve got to do it. You owe it to yourself!

During your session, I’ll be there to help you pick out your outfit, accessories, and to guide you through poses, but I also totally love giving you the chance to shine and take charge of your session. That means go for the daring look and try out new positions and angles. I’m all for it!

#4 “Smile More”

This one is something I hear way too often for my liking.

It’s like women are expected to be perky and excited over everything, which is fine… except that’s impossible. We’re human, and we feel tons of different emotions. Which means we should be entitled to smile, or not smile, whenever we decide we want to.

At my studio, you can do whatever you want. You can smile in every picture, pout in all of them, or mix it up as things come to you!  

The point is, you can express yourself however you want, and no one at Bomshell studios is going to stop you from embracing every part of yourself!

#5 “Don’t Show Too Much Skin”

This is a rule you are 100% encouraged to break (even outside of the studio).

You are absolutely stunning and you know what you feel gorgeous in. So if you want to show off your incredible assets, then do it! Strip down as much as you’d like because, honestly, this boudoir photoshoot session is all about you and no one else.

It’s your life, so make sure you’re living it the way you want to live it!
